My focus is on saving and recovering endangered wildlife species and their natural functioning ecosystems. I believe this recovery of wild nature is possible, without denying the growing human need for modernity and development. I do not believe such denial is either feasible or essential for effectively recovering wild nature. I am an eco-pragmatist arguing in favor of creating sustainable landscapes, clearly partitioned between protected nature and technically advanced habiats for humanity. I believe it is possible to reduce human exploitation and extractions from natural ecosystems only by “decoupling” the two, employing appropriate advanced technologies. Such technologies must necessarily shrink the excessively large human footprint, which has been degrading wild nature across the globe.
